JomTaxi, Revolution in Malaysia’s Taxi Industry

BY ZETTY NORDIN.

The taxi industry in Malaysia has been long deep-rooted due to its widely known complaints if compared with other transportation means such as bus, LRT, monorail etc. Interestingly, a recent new findings surveyed by SPAD (Land Public Transport Commission) through online was about the same, not surprising, over-charging, not using meter, poor attitude and dirty taxis were the top of the list. With the admission of some emerging ride-sharing mobile apps like Easy Taxi, GrabCar and Uber, the condition of Malaysia taxi industry has become even more challenging.
To counter the growth of these ride-sharing apps, a local entrepreneur namely Mr. Valenthiran Subramaniam, founder of iCab Taxi (leader in advertising drivers in Malaysia) has introduced his flagship mobile apps called JomTaxi for the passengers and taxi drivers.

JomTaxi allows passengers to get taxi service in just 5 minutes. With only RM1 taxi booking fee and availability of 3 languages in JomTaxi apps, it assures the user-friendliness, security and convenience for all taxi passengers in Malaysia.

The response of JomTaxi apps has been overwhelming since its soft launching recently, there are about 500 taxi drivers registered in JomTaxi network now, and still counting. As the appointed business consultant of JomTaxi, proper business planning and implementation strategy for JomTaxi will eventually lead the business taking flight. That is what GE Consult does, helping SMEs fly.
